The Summit S 670 is no exception to the rules. Its features would make any griller drool. In this review, we will take some time to look at the specs of this beast, then talk about some positives and negatives regarding use and ownership, and wrap up by discussing other comparable grills in the Weber lineup.

Reviews
On Weber’s website, this grill had three reviews with 100% being 5 or 4 stars.
There are reviews on Amazon that appear to be complaints regarding customer service more than the product itself. The positive reviews outweigh the negative by quite a bit. This is a top of the line product, so buyers expect top of the line service, delivery, and assembly as well.
Unfortunately, Weber has no control over the delivery and customer service provided by Amazon with its expert assembly program, so we are going to set aside any comments that had to do with that process.
What Makes the S 670 Great
This grill has all the top of the line features you’re looking for and more. The six-burner system provides perfectly even grilling over the full 624 inches of grilling space. Also, the grill features a side burner, a rear-mounted infrared rotisserie burner and smoker, and a sear station burner.
Here is a nice video walk through of all the features that the 670 offers.
Another great feature of the S 670 is that it’s designed to be fuel efficient in its use of either natural gas or liquid propane because its burners and valves deliver a precise input of BTUs to reach high searing temperatures quickly.
The S 670 cooks food evenly no matter which feature you are using to do so. The high-quality craftsmanship and materials used on the grill’s outer box and cooking surfaces only accentuate the perfect cooking the grill provides.
The sheer size of this grill puts it on top of almost every other grill on the market. The cooking space, coupled with the excess prep and storage, makes for a fantastic grilling experience, especially if you are grilling up dinner for large parties regularly. For the nights when you only have a couple of people to cook for, you can turn on single burners, or even use the side burner or smoker to make dinner a breeze regardless of the party size you’re cooking for.
Finally, the S 670 is completely stainless steel, which looks great, while also helping the grill to survive longer. It comes with a 10-year warranty that excludes wear and tear, but if you treat this grill right with regular cleaning and covering, you will likely never have to use the warranty.
What I Don’t Like
The downside for the S 670 is one thing and one thing only: The price. Plain and simply this is the kind of grill that you are going to need to commit to. It has every feature you could want, but that comes with a high price tag, and some people probably won’t be able to afford it.
If you are looking for a grill that is well worth the investment, however, this is the grill you’re looking for. As Weber’s flagship Summit grill, the S 670 has every bell and whistle, and they stand behind their product, so don’t let the price scare you too much.
Versus the Summit S 660 Built-In
With the power of the S 670, but a little extra class and flair, the Summit S 660 Built-in is a fantastic grill. This model is Weber’s answer to still somewhat new popularity of outdoor kitchens. It’s a sleek and fully capable grill that can slide into any island area to finish off your high-end backyard or patio space.
The 660 comes equipped with many of the same features you will find on the 670: stainless steel grill and doors, snap-jet individual burner ignition system, stainless steel cooking grates, and six powerful burners. It is, however, missing some of the more extravagant features like the rotisserie and side burners.
Both grills are known for excellent, even cooking regardless of food placement, and both grills come with the same 10-year warranty. However, the 670 is still a step above in terms of features.
The only thing that might make the 660 more desirable for some is the ability to slide it into an outdoor kitchen easily. The 670’s wider frame and lack of folding side arms make it nearly impossible to incorporate into your outdoor kitchen space.
Regardless, I would recommend the S 670 over the S 660 purely based on the number of features you miss out on in the latter model. The S 670 offers much more performance for less money, making it an ideal option.
Versus the Summit E 670
Typically with Weber products, you can expect a small step up in price and features from the E models to the S models, but in the case of the Summit 670s, that is not true.
The E670 has all the features and power of the S 670 for the same price, but without the stainless steel frame. This is one of the only cases when I would suggest going with the S model over the E simply due to the lack of price difference.
Why settle for a porcelain-enamel lid and doors when you could have the luxury and durability of stainless steel for the same price? Unless you are very particular about color, I’d stay away from the E 670 and opt for what will look like an upgrade to the S version.
Versus the Genesis LX S 640
The Genesis series is supposed to be a step down in luxury from the Summit series, but without giving up much power or even grilling. In the case of the LX S 640, you are indeed not losing out on class by staying away from the top of the line.
With 93 BTUs per hour per square foot, this grill barely falls under the power of the Summit 670, but it does so with more primary grilling surface and some similar features. This model still features stainless steel cooking grates, LED fuel gauge, and stainless steel doors, side tables, and lid.
The Genesis’ sleek tubular lid design gives this grill a look that sets it apart in the Weber world. It has high-end features for a less lofty price and comes ready for all the tech geeks out there with iGrill3 compatibility built in, a feature we are still waiting to see in the Summit 670.
This grill does not have all of the tricked-out extras that the Summit comes with, so it is still a slight downgrade, but regarding performance, the two are similar enough to make a buyer second guess themselves.
If you are looking purely for a large, well-performing grill, it might be worth saving a little money by going with the Genesis model. If, however, you want the top of the line, Cadillac of grills, I’d suggest sticking with the Summit S 670. You will be exciting friends and family with that grill for years to come.
